Magari domani resto

- All I have to do is dream degli Everly Brothers
- Heaven for everyone dei Queen

Autore: Elisabetta Gnone
Titolo: Olga di carta
Casa Editrice: Salani Editore

"Allora?" domandò impaziente. "Dov'è?"
"Non c'è" rispose la bambina. "Non ho trovato nessuno fatto come me".

2017 Women Challenge

Regole:

* chiunque può partecipare;
* non è necessario avere un blog per partecipare. Se non hai un blog lasciami cortesemente un commento con un link (se le pubblichi da qualche parte) alle tue recensioni o con la lista dei libri che leggerai man mano e il livello che hai scelto;
* è permessa la lettura di audiolibri, e-books, libri "normali" e riletture;

A week in the middle of August

So, this week started in very good way:

On Sunday I spent the whole morning inside a bookstore.
I would have bought so many books...I feel like I need reading. I have to nose some new books, because they smell so good.
In this last period of time, I'm looking at the cover of the books with more attention. I like the photos, I like the font, I know that this is a marketing strategy, but I think they are doing a great job.
So, I came out of the bookstore with 3 books: the first was a present for a friend, the second was a present for my-future-kitchen and for my photography (it's the book of this wonderful lady.... and the book I bought is this....I cannot wait for baking some of her wonderful cookies!), and the third was a gift for me....the last Jane Austen's book! (I have to read Sanditon, it is the last one I have to read!).
Then we had a party for Mr's birthday.

On Monday I run, and in the evening I met with my University friends: we had a dinner together and I had a great time with them. I always have a great time with them.

On Tuesday I ate a wonderful chocolate ice-cream strolling around with my Mr, talking about our future together, our house, our next travels.....
I am sad for Robin Williams: to me, he was the actor of my childhood, and he will always be this for me, with Hook, Mrs Doubtfire, Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, What Dreams May Come, Patch Adams....

You should have this book in your bookcase

Me before you- Jojo Moyes
I'm stuck in this book.
Anna is one of my dearest friends, and for our birthday we give each other a book.
So for my birthday I received the one you see above.
I don't want to tell the story of the book, you can find it waving in internet (I'm not good at summarizing...)

I just want to tell you...
that I've loved the main characters, Lou and Will.
that I cannot stop thinking of them, and of their story, and of the bee
that I cried a lot of tears, while I was reading the book and even when I think of it
that as I always usually sometimes do, while I read the books, I identify with the main characters, and if my character loves someone...well....in my mind this guy is my Mr...that's probably why I always love the most part of the books that I read....
that I always take for granted everything I have, my Mr, and since now I'm going to try to use better my time
that Will really is a little like my Mr
that the author answered my twitter to her (love!!! @_@)
So, I heartily recommend this book to you!

Oh, books

Let me tell you....these days aren't the best of my life.
Looking for a job, having job interviews without any answer, standing next to my phone with the hope that it rings...well, it's not the best.
But these days have something good.
I read. A lot.
The smell of a new book that is different from the one of an old, the sound of the pages, the beginning of a new chapter...
Thanks to them, I go everywhere.
While I read, I think about the story and nothing else. I always identify with the girl-main-character, and, of course, Mr is the boy-main-character.
In this summer I fall in love with Fannie Flagg's books (Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, A Redbird Christmas, the one I loved most), because the places she describes, are exactly where I want to live.
I read about Sherlock Holmes's investigations, Ester Prynne's shame, MiMi's great heart...
Why do I tell you this?
Well, one of my cousins, Mrs Fogg, on Facebook, links a wonderful page... and the good of these days comes into my head...

Get lucky

That's what has happened during these last days....not in this particulary order!
  • This morning I met my hairdresser because yesterday morning I saw 3, yes 3, white hair in what I can call "my-ex-bangs". And I don't know how many white hair I have in the rest of my head...So this morning my hair dresser has covered up all of them...Well done, Mr hairdresser!
  • I started to attend photography classes!!! Yeeees!!!!And I'm very very happy about this!  Despite what I thought, I have to study....my boyfriend is right...I MUST READ (STUDY) USER'S MANUAL...
  • Winter is arrived. It's true, it's cold, I'm wearing a wool sweater, and, I hate this. It's the end of May, I WANT to put on my summer-dresses, and soak up the sun, and wearing my wedge heels!!!!
  • I'm trying to understand something about pinterest....I try to use it....just give me a week, and I'll become addicted to!!!
  • While one of my friend is on her honeymoon, another one is building her first house, I'm still looking for a real and serious job...is life cool?
  • I met some fantastic girls during this my internship
  • I've read two great books: The Painted Veil by William Somerset Maugham, and I finished to read The Sweetness of Forgetting by Harmel Kristin....two wonderful books!!!
  • And HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTER!!!!!!
  • Ah, I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

Here's some photos took on a Saturday in May (when it was almost spring....)

For the first time I sat down on my Mr's shoulders....and, guys!!!world is very high!!!

Have a nice Saturday!!!

Can I give you some advices?

During the day a lot of things and ideas come to my mind, and I think "Yes! This evening I can talk about this on my blog!".
The evening comes and the idea is flown away. EVERY. EVENING.
Today was better than yesterday. (Thanks for asking, and thanks God tomorrow is already Wednesday!!)
And here you'll find some random thoughts that came into my mind today!

NUMBER 1:
If you decide that you don't want your bangs anymore, you have to know that you will pass some LOOOONG weeks with an unconvincing, hilarious and horrid haircut (I'm through those weeks, damn bangs...)

NUMBER 2: - Book Advice
Read this book.
It's about a very sweet, tender and delicate love story between two kids.
Read it.
And then tell me if you like it!I loved it!!!!!
If you want here you find his blog
NUMBER 3: Movie Advice
Watch this movie:
It's dramatic, and I cried (not so extraordinary...), but it's really a wonderful movie, and Mickey Rourke is at his best.
Then you listen to the soundtrack of Bruce Springsteen, and you cannot think that this isn't a wonderful movie.

Tell me, friend, can you ask for anything more?

It's a little bit strange having nothing to do. I can do all I want. And it's good, really really good.
  • So as usually, I go walking in my park, and I took some photos:

  • then, thanks to this girl I read in three days this book (and I totally love it!!!!!!!!!!):
  • then, I'm soaking up the sun, I'm reading, sleeping, shopping (ok, you can hate me!!! but I think I deserve this!)
And today I'm making some spring cleaning, I'm going to look which dresses I have to keep and the ones I can throw away.

P.S. As you can see, I made some little changes on my blog, and they aren't finish! : )

I really love reading

Last year I saw a movie, the Jane Austen Book Club.

I really really liked this movie, and since that time I started reading all Jane Austen's books.
I discovered a fantastic English world, with gentlemen, shy girls, and reading this before sleeping is like watching a movie!!!
Now I'm reading "Mansfield Park" , I started it two weeks ago, I think I'm going to read more the next days because my thesis is almost finished...

Yesterday evening I went to the cinema with 2 friends and one of my cousin (not the one of the other day!!)... and we saw "One day", the movie based on the novel that I read.... ok, Anna Hathaway was fantastic, but the movie not.
